The small solid electrolyte tube (5) has a coating on its outer surface. This is a mixture of calcium zirconate and a fluoride. The coating is 10-100 mum thick, and only partly covers the outer surface of the solid electrolyte tube. The corresponding coated tube is claimed separately.
