<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a field emission display device capable of not only increasing an amount of electrons emitted from an emitter, but also uniforming a degree of electron emission for every picture element. <P>SOLUTION: This field emission display device includes a first substrate, a plurality of gate electrodes formed there, an insulating layer formed on the first substrate while covering a plurality of the gate electrodes, a plurality of cathode electrodes formed on the insulating layer, emitters formed by coming into electrical contact with the cathode electrodes, a second substrate disposed with an interval kept from the first substrate while forming a vacuum container in cooperation with the first substrate, an anode electrode formed on one surface of the second substrate facing the first substrate, and a fluorescent layer formed on the anode electrode. The cathode electrode has an emitter storage part formed by removing a part of the cathode electrode, the emitter storage parts are formed so that walls formed by the cathode electrodes are disposed between them, and the emitters are at least stored in the emitter storage parts, and are brought into electrical contact with the cathode electrodes. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
