PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for satisfying the desire for receiving digital terrestrial broadcast programs with a television receiver having a digital interface and a tuner capable of receiving digital satellite broadcast programs without modifying its internal hardware configuration. SOLUTION: A digital broadcast reception system disclosed herein includes: a tuner 19 for receiving a digital terrestrial broadcast programs as an encrypted TS (transport stream) by a first encryption system; an encryption means 20 for encrypting the received TS by a second encryption system; and an IEEE 1394 I/F 21 for outputting the TS encrypted by the second encryption system and connectable to an IEEE 1394 I/F 9, the IEEE 1394 I/F 9 receives the TS outputted from the IEEE 1394 I/F 21, and a second decryption means 5 decrypts the received encrypted TS by the second encryption system and provides an output of the result to an AV decoder 7.
