PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a video image from being overlooked by displaying video contents whose remaining view period is small onto the top sides of a list among video contents whose viewing time is limited. SOLUTION: A video recording and reproducing apparatus is disclosed which is provided with a remaining viewing period extract means 7 for assigning priority to video contents whose viewing enabled period is small and displays video contents whose viewing period is small onto the top sides of the list to thereby urge a user to view the recorded video contents, and the user is consequently prevented from overlooking the video contents due to expiration of the period.
