PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching operation device with which a click touch is enhanced and with which it is made harder for an operating member to be moved to other switching positions by mistake. SOLUTION: The operating member 32 is slidably mounted on a rear panel 5, at which an arm 33 with engaging convex parts 33a, 33b formed at both ends, and engaging recess parts 5a to 5d integrally formed with a retaining member 34 to retain them is formed, and it is slide-operated among three switching positions of a movie mode/playback mode/camera mode. Coil springs 36a, 36b formed by a conductive shape-memory alloy, if the operating member 32 is slide-operated to the playback mode, will become of a profile at the time of a high temperature to be drawn by being supplied with electricity, and because a biasing force is added to the arm 33 via pushing pieces 35a, 35b, the click touch to the operator is enhanced.
