PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device having a dither processing circuit which conducts dither processes to input video signals without causing flicker nor dither noise. SOLUTION: Correction is made by adding a correction value, which makes the difference (an average error value) between the average value of the luminance level represented by the pixel data corresponding to each pixel within a pixel group and the average value of the luminance level represented by dither adding pixel data corresponding to the pixels within the pixel group, to the dither adding pixel data. Thus, even though assignment of dither coefficients within the pixel group is changed for every field to reduce dither noise, good image in which occurrence of flicker is suppressed is displayed.
