PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a halitosis indicator material, capable of precisely reproducing halitosis, a method for easily sampling the same, a pseudo-halitosis composition, and a method for determining the halitosis or an oral hygiene state, by analyzing the sampled sample. SOLUTION: The halitosis and the oral hygiene state are determined, with the halitosis determination indicator material consisting of at least trimethylamine, dimethyl sulfide, p-cresol, and skatole, as the indicator. Each constituent element of the halitosis determination indicator material included in dental cleaning saliva after the dental cleaning for 30-60 seconds is performed, with 5-7 ml of ion-exchange water or with distilled water is analyzed.
