PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain a movable body from being moved slightly when a load is applied to linear motion of the movable body. SOLUTION: This rotational motion conversion mechanism for converting rotational motion of a rotary body 43 into the linear motion of the movable body 2 is provided with a support body 42 fixed to a main body frame 3 and formed with a slit 42A along an axial direction of the rotary body 43, a spiral groove 43A is formed in an inner circumference of the rotary body 43, and a piece member 41 is provided in the rotary body 43. The piece member 41 is provided with an engaging member 41A penetrated through the slit 42A to engage its tip part with the spiral groove 43A, and a locking member 41C for stopping the linear motion of the movable body 2 when the load is applied to the linear motion of the movable body 2. The linear motion is thereby stopped to restrain the movable body from being moved slightly when the load is applied to the linear motion of the movable body 2, and measurement stability is enhanced thereby in a measuring machine.
