PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of piping members and a screw-in frequency around a gas meter. SOLUTION: In this piping system in the periphery of the gas meter, a gas cock 13 and a header 15 are attached to a upper end part of a gas meter inlet pipe 2 and a gas meter outlet pipe 3, an opening and closing handle 13A is attached to an upper part in a meter inlet pipe 2 side, a connection inlet 13B to the meter inlet pipe 2 is provided in its lower part, a connection outlet 13C is formed horizontally, and the gas cock 13 for a main cock assembled with a cock 13D is attached in its inside. A branch port 15A or a pressure inspection port 15C is provided in an upper part in a meter outlet pipe 3 side, a connection outlet 15B to the meter outlet pipe 3 is formed in a lower face, the header 15 is attached to have a connection inlet 15D horizontally or the pressure inspection port 15C in parallel, a flow-in side joint 14 and a nut 8 are combined in the connection outlet 13C, a flow-out side joint 16 and a nut 9 are combined in the connection inlet 15D, and gas meter bases 10, 11 are engaged therewith to attach the gas meter.
