PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To follow shaking by smoothly moving a decorative cover whose own weight gets heavy, following temporary deformation due to an earthquake or the like in an expansion joint capable of coping with the enlargement and high rise of a building with a clearance from 400 mm to 1,000 mm. SOLUTION: A plurality of extensible slide rails each comprising an outer rail and an inner rail are arranged at optional pitches in a clearance C set between the buildings A, B facing each other. The decorative cover is supported and fixed to one side of the slide rail with screws or the like, and movement following temporary deformation due to the earthquake or the like is made by the sliding of the slide rail.
