PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detergent composition having improved freshening feeling of a higher fatty acid, and also having very superior foaming performance (foaming power, foam quality and foam amount). SOLUTION: The detergent composition comprises (A) the higher fatty acid, (B) an ethylene oxide adduct of a fatty acid-monoethanolamide type nonionic surfactant (the number of added moles is 1-10), (C) a semipolar surfactant and preferably (D) a water-soluble polymer.
