PHOTOCATALYST COATING COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a photocatalyst coated film exhibiting excellent photocatalyst activity without causing release of the coated film even when thick coating is carried out. SOLUTION: The photocatalyst coating composition comprises a photocatalyst-dispersing toner, a mixed solution of water/isopropanol/ethylene glycol monobutyl ether and an inorganic binder. The inorganic binder is obtained by dispersing a solid content composed of 40-70 mass% silica and 30-60 mass% organohydroxysilane and a partial condensation product of organohydroxysilane into a mixed solution of water/isopropanol/ethylene glycol monobutyl ether. A molecular assembly in which the organohydroxysilane and a partial condensation product of the organohydroxysilane containing colloidal silica as a nucleus are bonded has≥300 molecular weight and is controlled in a molecular weight distribution in which 300-500 molecular weight occupies 0-20% and 500-1,000 molecular weight occupies 20-40% and 1,000-10,000 molecular weight occupies 40-70%.
