PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a highly foamed EPDM sponge rubber composition which makes no strange sound between the inside of the hollow sealing part of a weatherstrip, etc., and a highly foamed sponge material. SOLUTION: The highly foamed EPDM sponge rubber composition is obtained by using sodium bicarbonate as a blowing agent, making cell structure into open cells and has≥70%, preferably≥80% open-cell ratio of the open cells defined by open-cell ratio=ä(Wd-Wa)/(Wb-Wa/Z)}×100(%) when Wa is sample weight, Wb is a sample volume, Wd is sample weight after water absorption and Z is kneaded material weight before foaming.
