<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric sensor capable of optionally setting a decision threshold depending on a situation. <P>SOLUTION: The photoelectric sensor comprises a light projector for projecting light into a detection region, a light receiver that either directly or indirectly receives light projected from the light projector and outputs a detected signal in proportion to a received light quantity, a setting means for setting a decision threshold used for a determination, and a determination means that determines a state of the detection region if in a first optical state or in a second optical state by comparing a detected signal transmitted from the light receiver with a predetermined decision threshold. The setting means includes a reference value memory means and a decision threshold memory means, wherein the reference value memory means can store the maximum and minimum received light quantity actually received by the light receiver which correspond to the first optical state and the second optical state in the detection region, respectively, and the decision threshold memory means can set any received light quantity as a decision threshold by interpolating between the maximum and minimum received light quantities. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
