PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide printing equipment, in which gradation is represented by screen processing, especially a screen (a filter) is selected based on the information of printing data in a unit area so as to prevent jitters or streaks from developing and execute a printing processing substantially coinciding with the attributes of drawing objects. SOLUTION: A printing data drawing part 4 analyzes printing data fed from a host device 2 and expands to an image memory 6 as drawing data. This expansion processing is executed based on a filter having a screen ruling registered in a screen pattern data expansion buffer 5. The filter having the screen ruling executes, for example, by comparing data size per unit area of the printing data with information registered in advance in a drawing object size table 11 and by comparing not only the difference in the drawing object but also substantially the printing size with reference values so as to execute a printing processing, in which jitters and streaks are prevented from developing.
