PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure that a bookmark does not casually fall off a book when freely opened. SOLUTION: The bookmark is constituted of a flexible string of a specified length as a bookmark main body corresponding to the size of a book, a thin sheet-like adjustor fitted to one end part of the bookmark main body and a weight provided at the other end part of the bookmark main body which is exposed from its straight line part held between the chosen opening/closing pages to the fore edge side of the book, passing through a passage hole in the adjustor as a base for forming a contracting/enlarging loop part loosely fitted to and winding around at least the face or back cover of the book.
