PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a meso-erythritol polymer fatty acid ester having high surface-active functions by separating a fraction of the meso-erythritol polymer having high hydrophilicity. SOLUTION: The meso-erythritol polymer fatty acid obtained by esterifying a meso-erythritol polymer fractionated material separated by liquid chromatography and having≤5 wt.% content of a low-molecular weight component is used.
