A method for fitting thermal insulation panels under roof rafters, e.g. to supplement the insulation blocks clamped between the rafters, has the panels clamped between securing strips fitted across the rafters with a spacing to secure the panels. Additional security is provided by fitting holding strips (12) across the securing strips. The holding strips are made of flat metal strip and have triangular spikes (17) punched out of one side of the strip. These spikes are driven into the securing strips to fit the holding strips spaced along each panel.
