In a case of testing a display device including drive circuits provided around the pixels, it is necessary to input, as test signals, start pulses and clock pulses. The more complicated the drive circuits are, the more complemented the start and clock pulses are, which raises the cost for producing the test signals. Also, since a clock generator is required, the cost for preparing a test apparatus is raised. Moreover, the test time period is caused to be longer. Causing all the power supplies of the drive circuits to exhibit desired potentials allows desired potentials to be outputted regardless of input signals.
