A process for the production of a laminated plate comprising a natural stone plate having a stabilizing layer, a support layer of rigid polyurethane foam and a further stabilizing layer whereby the fibers in the stabilizing layer are embedded in a polyurethane adhesive that is applied wet; the support layer is applied to the wet adhesive and the fibers in the other stabilizing layer are applied followed by curing under pressure. A process for the production of a laminated plate (I) comprising a natural stone plate having a stabilizing layer in the form of fibers embedded in resin, a support layer of polyurethane and a further stabilizing layer in the form of fibers embedded in resin whereby the fibers in the stabilizing layer are embedded in a polyurethane adhesive that is applied wet; the support layer is a polyurethane rigid-foam sheet that is applied to the wet polyurethane adhesive and the fibers in the other stabilizing layer are applied and the resulting layer structure is cured in a press under pressure.
