<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image forming apparatus in which one output page is divided into a plurality of page areas of different size and an input page can be allocated to each page area. <P>SOLUTION: When a page area is selected after an output page is divided into uniform page areas and then page area allocation setting is designated, a number of allocation pages menu 61, a frame line menu 62 and an allocation page menu 63 are displayed for a selected page area. When an operator designates allocation using these menu, the selected page area is further divided into a plurality of page areas and input pages can be allocated to individual page areas.
