<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile electronic device extremely easily operable and retainable by the use of only one hand of a user. <P>SOLUTION: This mobile electronic device comprises a plurality of operation keys and a display part on the outer surface of the device. This device has a casing-like three-dimensional shape having a front part, a back part, an upper surface part, a lower surface part, and lateral side parts. The upper surface part has a forefinger operation key part in a position operable by the forefinger of one hand, the front part has a thumb operation key part in a position operable by the thumb of the same one hand, and the back part and/or side parts that are the operated side of this device have a retaining grip structure in a position capable of retaining the device in the same one hand.
