<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position detector capable of performing position detection with high precision regardless of inclination of an indication device while using a tablet having no position detecting conductive wire or the like, and an indication device used therefor. <P>SOLUTION: First and second magnetic sensors 9 and 11 detect three-dimensional magnetic components of first and second magnetic fields H<SB>1</SB>and H<SB>2</SB>. A position detection part determines an optional position indicated by a pen 5 on the basis of the three-dimensional magnetic components. According to this, if the pen 5 is in an inclined attitude but in the same position, the nodal line with a plane S according to the magnetic vector on a tablet 1 is unchanged although the plane S is inclined. Accordingly, the position detection can be performed with high precision by use of the tablet 1 having no position detecting conductive line even if the pen 5 is inclined. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
