PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method and control device capable of rapidly controlling the valve opening of an automatic pressure regulating valve to a desired opening without delay by use of the pressure and flow rate of a fluid to be controlled. SOLUTION: Necessary pressure increase and pressure reduction are selectively and forcibly applied to the control chamber of the automatic pressure regulating valve to rapidly move the valve element of the automatic pressure regulating valve to a state required at the point of time, or to each position of balanced opening, large opening, and small opening.
