PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a development device that allows cost down by decrease of the cost of a magnetic body and also allows recycling of a development sleeve by improvement in replacement of the magnetic body. SOLUTION: The development device 1 includes a cylindrical development sleeve 3-b disposed close to a photoreceptor drum (image carrier) 107 on which magnetic toner is held by electrostatic force and a toner image is formed; and a freely rotatable ferrite magnet (magnetic body) 3-a disposed in the development sleeve 3-b. The development device 1 rotates the ferrite magnet 3-1, thereby conveying the magnetic toner on the development sleeve 3-b and supplying it to the photoreceptor drum 107. In the development device 1, a butting roller 7 supporting the ferrite magnet 3-a rotatably and side walls 4 and 5 supporting the development sleeve 3-b are made to be separate members.
