PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolytic sterilizer for a bath tub and a water tank which generates hypochlorous acid without loading sodium chloride again by using chlorine ions present in nature such as hot spring water for effectively sterilizing bacteria such as colon bacilli and Legionella bacteria in the bath tub or the water tank, and circulates the hypochlorous acid. SOLUTION: The electrolytic sterilizer for the bath tub and the water tank has an electrolytic cell where (a) a pair of electrode plates having opposite polarities is inserted into a comb teeth-shaped electrode holder contacting with the inside of a cylindrically formed tank body and the right and left ends are closed by lid bodies, and (b) the polarity is converted alternately by a polarity conversion controller to prevent metal ion adhesion and to continuously generate hypochlorous acid effective in sterilization of colon bacilli, Legionella bacteria, etc. Water drawn from the bath tub or the water tank is sterilized in the electrolytic cell to be returned.
