Method for marking tool bits has high temperature activated adhesive labels applied to porous surface panels on tools

A method for applying a durable marking to tool bits, e.g. sockets, has a part of the outer surface of the tool surface treated to a porous structure. The marking comprises a high temperature activated resin which is applied as an adhesive panel and heated to above 250 deg. C. to bond into the pores. The tool bit is then cooled and is ready for use.
