<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a high cost problem and make the look of a state wherein a clip is fitted to a barrel attractive by smoothly forming the ridge of the lower end of a box-shaped engagement part. <P>SOLUTION: This fixed structure of the clip of a writing utensil is engaged with an securing part constituted of the base of a clip rear end fitted protruding on the outer surface of a barrel. The base of the clip has a perpendicular side wall formed on both sides of the base to the upper surface and a notched part is formed from the rear end of the upper surface to the forward end with an uneven part for engagement formed on the peripheral surface of the notched part. In addition, the securing part of the barrel has a ceiling part and a core wall part, showing a nearly T-crosssectional shape at the upper end on both sides of the core wall part an engaging groove is formed, and the uneven part for engagement of the clip engages with the core wall part.
