<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photopolymerizable liquid crystal composition capable of making a film excellent in orientation property and useful as an optical compensation element of a liquid crystal display element, without using a conventional photopolymerization initiator by improving the photopolymerization initiation since the initiator added in the photopolymerizable liquid crystal composition sometimes gives a bad effect to the characteristics of a coated film itself or a layer making a contact with the coated film. <P>SOLUTION: This photopolymerizable liquid crystal composition contains at least two of compounds expressed by formulae (1)-(4) [wherein, (m), (n), (q) and (r) are each independently 1-20 integer; (p) and (s) are each independently 0 or 1; X<SP>1</SP>to X<SP>3</SP>are each H or methyl; R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>are each cyano, an alkyl or an alkoxy; A<SP>1</SP>to A<SP>6</SP>are each 1, 4-cyclohexylene or 1, 4-phenylene; and Z<SP>1</SP>to Z<SP>4</SP>are each a single bond, -CH<SB>2</SB>CH<SB>2</SB>-, -COO- or -OCO-]. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
