<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizing plate which has a polarizing film having the same durability as that when using a polyester resin as the polarizing plate protective film for liquid crystal display, and moreover, having a polarizing plate protective film which does not injure a liquid crystal cell even when failing in sticking and recommencing the sticking of the polarizing plate to the liquid crystal cell. <P>SOLUTION: The polarizing plate has a protective film consisting essentially of a polyester resin of equilibrium moisture content 0.5∼3% on one side surface and has a protective film consisting essentially of a cellulose ester film on the opposite surface.
