PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for aligning a dispenser and a method for aligning a dispenser for rapidly and easily aligning a dispenser when a seal pattern is formed by using a dispenser. SOLUTION: The apparatus is equipped with a table 510 which holds a substrate having at least one liquid crystal display panel formed thereon and which moves parallel to the ground; first and second dummy aligning plates 511A, 511B held apart at a specified distance from each other on the table 510; a syringe 501A which supplies a sealant onto the first and second dummy aligning plates to form first and second aligned patterns 512, 513; a first imaging camera 502A to detect the image of the first aligned pattern formed on the first dummy aligning plate; a second imaging camera 502B to detect the image of the second aligned pattern formed on the second dummy aligning plate; and an alignment controlling part 520 which aligns the image by the first imaging camera to a first reference position and aligns the image by the second imaging camera to a second reference position.
