PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a danger that an optical fiber may be disconnected due to detachment of a ferrule and a holding flange during use because of a weak holding strength of the holding flange. SOLUTION: The optical fiber fixing tool composed of an approximately cylindrical optical fiber holding member having a through hole for holding optical fiber approximately on its middle portion and a holding metal fitting clamping the outer periphery of the optical fiber holding member, is characterized in that grooves are provided in at least a portion of the outer periphery of the optical fiber holding member that is clamped by the holding metal fitting and in a portion of the holding metal fitting that clamps the optical fiber holding member, and the optical fiber holding member is clamped by the holding metal fitting in a state where the groove of the outer periphery is engaged with the groove of the holding metal fitting.
