PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a construction method for creating a pit midway through a running water conduit, which shortens a construction period and reduces construction costs. SOLUTION: After a space A is provided around the conduit 1 of a pit creating part, firstly, an upper half 1a, having a length equal in dimension to/smaller in dimension than an inside measurement of the pit 3, of the conduit 1 is cut for elimination, and next, a gutter-like water pipe member 2, whose under surface is brought into close contact with the inner surface of the conduit 1 and wherein a stopper 26 is provided in the rear, is mounted in an uncut part 1b of the conduit 1. After a lower half 3a of the pit is created, the uncut part 1b of the conduit 1 is cut for elimination except for receiving parts 1c and 1c of the member 2. Subsequently, after the removal of the member 2, an upper half 3b of the pit is created so that the pit 3 can be created midway through the conduit 1. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
