PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolytic cell having melting electrodes eluting into water to be treated which can protect the electrodes by inhibiting electrode deterioration while the water is not supplied. SOLUTION: The electrolytic cell has a tank body where an inverted U-shaped passage is formed therein by a partition plate and an inflow port and an outflow port are formed on the end parts of the passage, and the melting electrodes disposed in the passage above the top side of the partition plate.
