PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating drying apparatus which can be installed in a narrow space; can simultaneously dry a plurality of works requiring different drying durations; has high heat efficiency and is thus economical; and is capable of flexibly dealing with the fluctuation of the number of the production of the works. SOLUTION: A drying furnace 12 comprises a first drying furnace 100 and a second drying furnace 102 overlaid on the first drying furnace 100. The first drying furnace 100 and the second drying furnace 102 comprise a tunnel type drying furnace main body 104 and a work transportation part 106 installed in the inside of the drying furnace main body 104 for transporting the works 32 laid on pallet 34. A work inlet part 110 is formed in an end part in a first elevation apparatus 18 side of the drying furnace main body 104 and a work outlet part 112 is formed in an end part in a second elevation apparatus 20 side.
