PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rice cooker having a heating plate detachably attached to a cover body for washing, and prevent the heating plate from being used without attaching the cover body to it. SOLUTION: This rice cooker has an abutting piece on a rear part of a hook 41 and a spring 44 on a shaft mounted around the center of the hook 41 to energize an end of the hook 41 to turn upward. When the heating plate 65 is not attached to the cover body, the end of the hook 41 turns upward by the spring 44 so as not to engage a hook lever 21. When the plate 65 is attached to the cover body, a heating plate support 66 presses the abutting piece 42 so that the hook 41 is engaged with the hook lever 21. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
