<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can attain efficient reading by shortening time required for reading an image, dispensation of sudden acceleration and sudden slowdown by making reading line speed slower than image forming line speed and miniaturization of a machine by shortening an approach run distance. <P>SOLUTION: In a copying machine 1, (a) is reading (main scanning) size of an image reading section 2, (b) is reading (sub scanning) size thereof, (c) is writing (sub scanning) size of an image writing section 4 and (d) is writing (main scanning) size thereof. In the copying machine 1, reading (main scanning) size (a) of the image reading section 2 is made larger than writing (main scanning) size (d) of the image writing section 4. Time required for reading the image is shortened and efficient reading is enabled. Further reading line speed is made slower than image forming line speed and thereby sudden acceleration and sudden slowdown are dispensed with and shortening of approach run distance can be attained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
