<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a luminescent water-base ink in a form of emulsion containing a luminescent compound excellent in luminescent characteristics; and to provide a luminescent water-base ink excellent in water resistance, light resistance, and storage stability and achieving security optimum for ink jet recording. <P>SOLUTION: This water-base ink mainly comprises water, a luminescent compound, and a resin and is an emulsion wherein fine resin particles containing the luminescent compound are dispersed.
