<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage water heater with a combustion amount variable burner, allowing the failure detection of a water amount sensor. <P>SOLUTION: A burner control device 9 performs water boiling control operation in accordance with an output signal from a temperature sensor 5 during a failure in operating the water amount sensor 4 and performs hot water supply control operation in accordance with output signals from the water amount sensor 4, a water supply temperature sensor 6 and a hot water supply temperature sensor 7 during operating the water amount sensor 4. A failure detecting means 13 consists of a timer means 10 to be operated during water boiling control operation, a temperature difference detecting means 11 for detecting temperature difference data T for the timer means 10 when starting and ending counting, and a comparison data storage means 12 determining a first reference temperature T1 during the combustion of the burner 8 and a second reference temperature T2 during the stop of the burner 8. The failure detecting means 13 determines that the water amount sensor 4 is in failure when the temperature difference data T is out of the reference temperatures T1, T2 and the burner control device 9 outputs a combustion stop command. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
