PROTECTION METHOD FOR NATURAL GROUND UNDER VEHICLE TRACK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insertion method for natural ground protection member reducing earth covering while increasing the freedom degree of a tunnel design and suppressing the deformation of the natural ground when constructing, for example, a tunnel under a vehicle track. SOLUTION: This method protects the natural ground by inserting a protection plate 2 having rigidity in the natural ground under the vehicle track and installs a pair of guide tubes 6 in the natural ground between a starting side and an arrival side of the protection plate 2. A flexible cutting device 10 such as a wire saw is endlessly wound around a drive pulley 9 provided in the starting side or the arrival side and a driven pulley 7 which is attached to the tip of the protection plate 2 and moves inside the pair of guide tubes 6. The drive pulley 9 is actuated to circumferentially travel the flexible cutting device 10 so that the natural ground between the guide tubes 6 is horizontally cut and at the same time the protection plate 2 is inserted in the cut part.
