PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous manufacturing process by which a copolyamide having stable properties is efficiently manufactured with minimal contamination. SOLUTION: The continuous manufacturing process of a copolyamide comprises (1) a process 11 by which a slurry in which an aromatic dicarboxylic acid is dispersed in a molten aliphatic dicarboxylic acid is obtained, (2) an initial polymerization process 11 by which a polyamide prepolymer with a relative viscosity of 1.4-2.7 is obtained by conducting polycondensation reaction by adding a diamine containing xylylenediamine as the major ingredient to the dicarboxylic acid slurry and by increasing the degree of polymerization while removing water at a temperature not lower than the melting point of the ultimately obtained copolyamide in a water-removable batch type reaction apparatus, (3) a final polymerization process by which a copolyamide with a relative viscosity of 1.6-4.0 is obtained by introducing the prepolymer into a water-removable, self-cleaning and continuous type horizontal twin screw reactor 41 and by increasing the degree of polymerization at a temperature not lower the melting point of the ultimately obtained copolyamide.
