PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optical resin composition and to provide an optical element that has a high transmittance for blue laser of a wavelength of 380-420 nm and is excellent in laser resistance, environment resistance and a low birefringence. SOLUTION: The optical resin composition mainly comprises a resin obtained by polymerizing a monomer mixture of, as indispensable ingredients, methyl methacrylate, a methacrylate or an acrylate having a 5-22C alicyclic hydrocarbon group in the ester portion and a methacrylate or an acrylate having a fluorine element in the ester portion.
