摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet printer, which can precisely detect the speed and position even when ink mist or the like adheres to a linear encoder. SOLUTION: A linear scale is arranged parallel to the moving direction of a carriage. A linear sensor 22 mounted on the carriage outputs an A phase signal and a B phase signal, both of which are obtained by reading the linear scale and have phases different from each other by 90 degrees. A crenca correction circuit 50a corrects the duty of the A phase signal by about 50% and outputs a signal after being corrected as an a_comped signal. A crencb correction circuit 50b corrects the duty of the B phase signal by bout 50% and outputs a signal after being corrected as a b_comped signal. The position counter 41 counts a value corresponding to the position of the carriage based on the a_comped signal and b_comped signal.
