PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a doctor blade which shows outstanding plate stiffness which is essential to doctor performance, follow-up properties to a mating roll and a high wear resistance of the contact part with the roll as an important factor of production efficiency at a paper machine and besides, minimizes damage to be inflicted to the surface of the mating roll. SOLUTION: In the doctor blade 2 made of a fiber-reinforced resin obtained by impregnating the reinforcing fiber 2a with a matrix resin 2b, the bending modulus of the vertical direction V to the scraper line of action L is three times or more higher than that of the parallel direction H.
