PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for hollow fiber membrane separation of an immersion type, wherein the hollow fiber membranes are packed at a high density, the membrane filtration is performed by a high driving force and at a high membrane permeation flux, efficiency of separation washing of a contaminated matter is improved, and an efficient membrane-filtration can be performed stably for a long period of time. SOLUTION: In this membrane separation system, an internal-pressure type hollow fiber membrane is used. The internal-pressure type hollow fiber membrane module 3 is placed in the permeated water-tank 2, and raw water is force-fed in the tubes of the hollow fiber membrane by a raw-water pump 4 for membrane filtration. Air is supplied by a blower 5 in the hollow fiber membrane to conduct air-scrubbing, and then back-washing is performed by extracting the raw water from the inside of the tubes of the hollow fiber membrane by a back-washing suction pump 6.
