The assembly includes a bendable plastic tube (1) having a coupling (10) at its machine end (12) and a mask (13) at its patient end (14). The mask comprises a bendable moulded plastic mount (15) having a hollow cylindrical sleeve (18) at its rear end, in which the patient end of the tube is inserted and an oval plate (20) with eight air vent holes outwardly-projecting from the other side. A leading tip (21) provided by a curved up leading edge of the plate projects forwardly and slightly beyond the cuffs. Semi-annular cuffs (16, 17) are bonded to each side of the flat plate and an inflation lumen (2) which is extruded within the wall of the tube opens into the upper cuff (17) and extends to the machine end to an inflation line (3) with an inflation indicator and connector (4).
