The positioning device moves the commandant (16) of the armored vehicle (1) between a semi-standing and a seated position dependent on the open or closed position of the roof hatch (2), via a frame (8) supporting a vertically displaced seat backrest (14) with a relatively pivoted seating surface (18) and a horizontally displaced standing plate (11). The commandant is held against the backrest via a safety belt (23) passed around the lower part of the trunk.
