<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera for easily applying image processing to obtain a sense of depth and a stereoscopic sense to image data at a low cost. <P>SOLUTION: The digital camera 2 applies photoelectric conversion to an object image to obtain pick-up image data, a built-in memory 29 temporarily stores the pick-up image data, and a portrait image extract circuit 30 extracts a portrait image region and a background image region other than the portrait image region from the pick-up image data.
