<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device capable of eliminating rugged appearance of a toner image on a recording sheet and also preventing a blistering of a resin layer of the recording sheet at the same time. <P>SOLUTION: The image smoothing device is for a recording sheet obtained by disposing a polyolefin resin coating layer on one side or both sides of a base sheet and further disposing a receiving layer in which a toner image is embedded in the coating layer, and provided with a plurality of stretching rolls including a first roll, an endless belt rotatably stretched by the plurality of stretching rolls, a second roll brought into pressure contact with the first roll by way of the endless belt to form a nip part, and a heating source for heating the first roll and/or the second roll, wherein when a surface temperature of the first roll is represented by Tn[°C], a Vicat softening temperature of the polyolefin resin by Tv[°C], and a nip part passage time of the recording sheet by t [sec], these satisfy the relation of (Tv+55)×(1+1/100t)≥Tn≥(Tv+20)/(1+1/100t) [°C]. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
