<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a time for cooling a cooled object to a target cooling temperature by preventing the solidification of gas filled in a heat pipe before sufficiently cooling the cooled object even when driving a refrigerating machine with great refrigerating capability such that a temperature in the refrigerating machine is not higher than a solidifying temperature of gas filled in the heat pipe. <P>SOLUTION: This device for cooling the cooled object 2 having a JT circuit 20 to be pre-cooled by the refrigerating machine 11 comprises the heat pipe 30 having an upper end joined to a second stage 14 of the refrigerating machine 11 and a lower end joined to the cooled object 2 for pre-cooling the cooled object 2 and a temperature control means for controlling the temperature of a heat pipe solidifying part 30c to accurately pre-cool the cooled object 2 to a liquefying temperature of the gas filled in the heat pipe 30. The temperature control means monitors a first temperature sensor 32 and a second temperature sensor 33 and controls ON/OFF operation of the refrigerating machine 11 or the energization of a heater so that the temperature of the filled gas is within the liquefying temperature in the process of pre-cooling by the heat pipe 30. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
